Host Armor Trim

The Host armor trim is a Trial Chambers pattern with a ceremonial, banner-like shape. It feels more modern than the older ruins and fortress trims.

Find Host smithing templates from Trial Chambers vault rewards. Host is a rare Trial Chambers reward, so it usually takes a dedicated vault route before you find a copy.

Host works well with high-contrast material choices. Quartz, emerald, and redstone can make the angular pattern read clearly on darker armor. Quartz gives Host a clean monochrome look, emerald feels regal, and redstone adds a stronger glowing accent.

Added in Minecraft 1.21 for Java and Bedrock gameplay.

Step 1

Find the Host Template

Trial Chambers vaults are the main source for the Host smithing template. The listed drop chance is 2.5%, so the practical search time depends on how quickly you can reach the structure and check its loot source.

Step 2

Duplicate the Template

Duplicate the template at a crafting table with 7 diamonds, 1 Cobbled Deepslate, and the original Host smithing template. The recipe returns 2 templates, which is the normal way to build a full armor set after finding one copy.

Java /give Example

This command gives a netherite chestplate with Host trim using Quartz as the trim material.

/give @p minecraft:netherite_chestplate[minecraft:trim={pattern:"minecraft:host",material:"minecraft:quartz"}] 1

Bedrock Edition

On Bedrock, create the trim at a smithing table. Give yourself the armor piece first, then combine the armor, the Host smithing template, and a Quartz trim material in the smithing table UI.

/give @s netherite_chestplate

Bedrock commands cannot fully encode every trimmed armor combination the same way modern Java item components can, so the smithing table step is the reliable method.
